5 years... unreal
It is funny how you can remember every little detail about the time in your life surrounding 8-11 am, September 11, 2001. I was at Patrick's house, doing some recording with Great White North, when I got word. I doubted the urgency of the matter, but when I finally got to a TV it all became clear. CNN had a free live (realtime) video of the service this morning from Ground Zero. I checked it out. Kinda moving. Trip is coming soon, Cyprus I mean, October 13 is our departure date. Can't wait. See ya tomorrow.

5 years ago today...
I was at D.P. Murphy doing some tech work at their office on Grafton. I remember someone saying that a plane had hit the world trade centre building. I just figured it was probably some misguided pilot with their small Cessna. Turns out I was a wee bit off. One of those things you never forget. Kinda like when you win the big lottery jackpot. Unfortunatly I've not had the opportunity to remember that day -- however I am cautiously optimistic that someday I will have the chance! Jacob has some great theories... hopefully he'll share them here.

The truth is out there...
Great lunch at Baba's today. Chicken shwarma with John and Ida as our special guests. Somehow Dico ended up with tomatoes in his but he survived. 5 years ago today I was in a townhouse in Brown's Court with 4 very attractive, although visibly upset, female college students. I sat down in front of the television in a state of disbelief. So many questions... How could 1, let alone 4 commercial airliners, roam the most protected airspace in the world for almost 4 hours without being apprehended? What kind of precision flying could allow you to fly 2 jumbo jets into 2 seperate targets with such accuracy? Then when I finally saw the footage the next day I was shocked to think that the impact of a 747 crashing into the top floors of a 110 storey office buidling would cause the entire building to be flattened in a mere 8.4 seconds. And then there is the story of the other 2 hijakced planes, flight 93 (music nsw - turn speakers down) and flight 77. So many questions...
