Harma turned the big 30 today! Actually, no only about 23 or so. We headed off to Pat and Willy's where we new Harma could dine for free. I arranged a surprise for her when we arrived -- Newman... and boy, he didn't dissappoint!
We all ordered our meals and when Newman ordered his nachos the waitress asked what veggies he wanted on it. Newman was quick to reply with "all of them!" so quickly actually that it made me think that he'd ordered them before. The waitress confirmed, "you want all the veggies?"... "yes, everything... and extra cheese". Newman, blissfully unaware that the new Pat & Willys menu now charges for each topping, was in for quite a surprise.
Once his nachos came they looked great! Well they should for a 1/2 order topping out at $11. We then started saying how good it looked and that it would be a pricey meal with taxes and a tip. Newman says, "they're only 6.99 boys and .99c for the extra cheese".... "plus 50c per topping I added". Newman flipped out and called the waitress over... pleaded his case that he didn't know. She offered to get him the plain nachos with cheese but that wouldn't work as he was in a rush. After some back and forth the waitress just let Newman eat the nachos and she'd take care of things.
Anyhow... it was pretty funny. I've scanned Newman's receipt below... note the "name" at the bottom of the slip -- "Spell Read". Priceless.
