I went to the aiport this morning to pick something up and to my surprise the parking lot was packed. I knew that the "seal huggers" were around again as it is beginning to be that time of year. Then it dawned on me, Paul McCartney came to town to lend his face to the cause. As i got past the reports and walked inside it was clear that the barrage of people were waiting for the Knighted one.
Luckily my magic key which gains me access to the locked doors and my homies at the airport informed me that McCartney was going to be arriving and that they'd quickly shuttle him into the main hangar at which point he's board the plane in the hanger... then pull the plane out, and depart immediately. Certainly a good way to avoid the press as they were all waiting inside and don't have access to the hangar.
When the limo arrived I felt like a giddy teenager -- 40 years ago. I'm not much of a music guy and was even doubtful that I'd recognize him. But as he got out of the car, he looks just like his picture above.
I shook his hand and said "its nice to meet you Mr. McCartney" to which he said "likewise". His hands were very soft -- he must use some sort of fabulous moisturizer. After he got in the plane i left the hangar and went into the lobby where a dumbfounded media contingency waited patiently for his arrival. Anyhow, it was a pretty cool experience!
