Pizza 4 Me

Today I opted for the pizza as I am not much for sweet potatoes. Not even the allure of Country Fried Chicken could entice me to get the special today. The pizza was fair and the few fries that I got were fairer.

One of the best deals that I ever got was at Future Shop. I bought a cable of some sort off of a clearance table, (a cable I actually needed, not just thought I might need someday). It had been marked down from $28 dollars to something like 7 bucks. So I got to the cash and the girl rang it through and then stared at the screen then, rang it through again. My face lit up with excitement. $0.01! It was ringing up as 1 cent. She scrambled to figure out how to change it and get the proper price in to no avail. I said "You can't argue with a computer! A deal is a deal!" She continued to work at as the line was growing behind me, eventually she said, "to heck with it", one penny please... I thought sweet. I reached into my pocket and all that I had once a $10 dollar bill. I cautiously said, "Umm, this is the smallest I have..." She kinda laughed and said, oh just take it! There I was, a $30 dollar cable for FREE! I would have paid the penny, if I had had one.

The Art of Club Sandwiches

The students at the Culinary learned something new today. So did I! I never knew that there was such an art in making club sandwiches. The preparation of my sandwich and their discussions on how to do it took probably close to 10 minutes. It all had to be in a specific order and if there was layer of lettuce in the wrong spot they would start over again. I wonder if the order makes a different to the taste?? Anyhow, it was very amusing how serious they took it. Me on the other hand? I could care less...

When it comes to sweet deals. For me, it usually involves stuff that I've ordered online or over the phone. For some reason I seem to have bad luck when it comes to receiving the correct product. Most of the times there are things missing or simply screwed up! Since this has happened many times, I've gotten fairly good at phoning the company to complain about my dissatisfaction. My suffering pays off though, I can most of the time get a pretty good deal out of them by getting replacements or other totally different products for nice discounts. The best thing is though that I've also gotten replacements and additional things for free simply because the company got confused by the way I wanted things done that they simply forgot to charge me.

Sorry for my late post today! I actually had work to do and totally forgot to post. Thankfully, Donnie reminded me but I better get back at it

Redflag Deals

Being a Dutchman suggests that I should be good at finagling deals.  Although I am sure I have throughout my life wheeled and dealed some doozies, I can't for the life of me think of any!

A good site that I do visit quite often is Redflagdeals.com.  Go to their forums and people list all kinds of pricing errors and price matching opportunities.  I've gotten some deals from there, but nothing like Donnie or Harma.

Otherwise I didn't have much to contribute today, oh, other than I hit myself with my own squash racquet last night and cut my hand.  This morning the cut looked kinda dry so instinctively i wanted to head for the polysporin.  However, as you may recall, I've learned my lesson.  I instead decided to moisten the wound with some Chap Stick brand lip balm.
