Good Bye Jacob
Some special guests for lunch today. Nice to see. Jacob told us everything we ever wanted to know about Vanauatu(sp?). Quite interesting. I had the fish and chips today. Not bad. Veggies were super. Restaurant was still very cold, I'm guessing 16, perhaps 17 degrees. Feeling very tired now. I had better get back to work before I shut down.

Farewell Jacob!
We had a couple of guests for Jacob's last supper. Newman and Gaudet joined us... or rather, we joined them. We got to hear more about Vanuatu and all its splendor. I'm sure Jacob will give you the highlights. I'm glad to hear he has an open door policy which I plan to take advantage of some day. One of the highlights is that since Jacob is going to be living there for two years and has "resident" status, he may be eligable to join the Vanuatu summer olympic team -- should he excel at any sport at which the locals do not. I for one will be tuning into the summer olympics in 2008! Newman today claimed that Titanic was still the most expensive movie made. Jacob informed him that it was in fact King Kong. However Newman had bought a book that told him it was Titanic. Both Gaudet and I tried to explain that the book was probably printed before the new information came out as King Kong is a new movie. Newman told us we were all wrong. You readers are probably much smarter than to just take Newmans word as the gosple. I've done the research (it took 5 seconds). King Kong is in fact the most expensive movie to date (that has been released). Superman Returns, due out this year, and Spiderman 3 due out in 2007 have larger budgets. Beating them all is the new Harry Potter movie. Newman, I know you're reading this and shaking your head... here's the link.

Hey Newman...
(I wasnt at lunch today, i was coming in to work from the storm....) I have a book that says Ben Johnson is the fastest man in the world. Does this mean it's true?!? Please explain, as I am quite perplexed right now!

Vanuatu, here I come!
Had the Monday special at Baba's today. Fish and chips. An East Coast favourite. Nice to have Gaudet and Newman join us today. Maybe they will post their comments and let you know how they felt about today's lunch. I almost titled today's topic "The Last Supper" to not only commemorate my last (for a while) lunch with the crew but to spark some debate on the subject of religious/sacreligious humour. However I feel that that topic has been discussed enough as of late. So as you may or may not already know, my journey is about to begin. I board the first of many planes tomorrow morning en route to Vanuatu. I am more than excited to finally start work on my 2 year CUSO placement there. I have known since November 2005 that I had been accepted as a candidate, however, there have been numerous delays in my departure. All the best to our readers! For any of those interested in receiving updates as to my adventures just drop me an e-mail and I will gladly add you to the list. Mbae mi lukem yu bakegen! (See you later)
